The 1997 NCAA championship game was a classic showdown, with Arizona prevailing over the University of Kentucky Wildcats, 84-79, to secure their first-ever NCAA tournament title in men's basketball. Miles Simon's outstanding performance earned him the Most Outstanding Player (MOP) honors for the tournament.
