In the 1980 World Series, the Philadelphia Phillies faced the Kansas City Royals, and they went on to win the series in six games, securing their long-awaited World Series victory and etching their names in baseball history. Mike Schmidt was named the World Series MVP for his impressive performance during the championship series.
